Delores Hands Obituary

Delores Jane (Brisco) Hands, the second of four girls born July 27, 1935, north of Berryville to Lenard and Ethel (Smith) Brisco. Delores spread her wings and went to her heavenly home on April 3, 2024, on the Brisco Farm with her family by her side at the age of 88 years.

“Tiny” as she was known to many of the locals, worked for Ocoma and Tyson Foods for several years. She owned Town & Country Restaurant and Bowling Lanes in Berryville and also, Hands Flea Market in Green Forest. She volunteered many many hours at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store with Maggie Duran. She became a Christian and was baptized at an early age. Delores always felt like it was a huge privilege to have been able to live on the Brisco Farm where she was born. She was a member of Towering Oaks Church in Berryville.

Delores is survived by her husband, Ronald Hands of the home. She is also survived by one daughter, Pauletta and husband Doug Johnson of Berryville; one son, Perry and wife Tammy Butler of Berryville; step-daughter, Linda and husband Ken Mattox of Greenbrier, AR; five grandchildren, Miranda and husband Cris Goforth of Berryville, Micheal and wife Jenna of Beebe, AR, Treven and wife Angela Butler, Dylan and wife Kayla Butler, Dakota and wife Charlia Butler all of Berryville; nine great-grandchildren, Win and Burke Johnson, Braylee and Haysten Butler, Clara and Shai Butler, Liberty, Teagan and Kase Butler; three step-grandchildren, Brandie Vaughn, Chris Riddels and Brandon Riddels; six step-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Baylie Vaughan, Kyle and Hailey Riddels, and Ember and Jordan Riddels; sister, Genetta and husband Ron Hodges of Berryville; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hardin of Berryville; several nieces and nephews, and many many friends and church family.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Lenard and Ethel Brisco; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Berniece Baldwin and husband Frank Baldwin of Oregan; Joretta Davidson and husband Red Davidson of Berryville; and one niece, Judy Baldwin of Oregan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Towering Oaks Church, 1159 Highway 62 West, Berryville, AR 72616. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 5, 2024, also at Towering Oaks Church, with Brother Larry Montgomery, Brother Dave McMellon, and Brother Mitchell Scitern officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackjack Cemetery, Highway 221 North, Berryville, AR. Delores requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Blackjack Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Green Forest, AR 72638.
