Cleo Phillips

Vernon Cleo Phillips (PaPa), age 92, passed away on January 22, 2019 in Berryville, AR. Cleo was born to Denver and Janie Phillips on March 3, 1926 at Dog Branch, AR. Cleo was saved at a young age and was deeply devoted to his Christian faith. On July 29, 1944 he was married to Thelma (Walker) Phillips at Rudd, AR.

Cleo was a farmer and carpenter for many years and enjoyed sharing his garden. Lake Return and the Phillips Family Reunion were very important to him. In younger years he especially enjoyed holidays and Pheasant Hunting Trips with family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Smith and husband Ulys Kay of Berryville, Joyce Cameron and husband Robert of Springfield, MO, one son, Ronald Gene Phillips and wife Jacque of Berryville, five grandchildren: Kevin Smith and wife Natalie, Ryan Cameron, Sarah Oliver, Ronnel Jeppsen and husband Matt, Jared Phillips and wife Natasha, nine great-grandchildren: Corey Smith and wife Kristy, Jeanessa and J.D. Smith, Sean Jeppsen, Jarika, Brooke and Madisyn, Cameron and Taylor Phillips as well as one great-great grandson, Peyton Smith. one sister, Alberta Howerton, sister-in-law Mae Phillips and many nieces nephews, loved ones and friends..

He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma, a son Donald Lee Phillips, a sister Margie Webb and a brother Clyde Ray Phillips.

Celebration Of Life will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, Cory Smith (great-grandson), Ulys Kay Smith (son-in-law) Kevin Smith (grandson) and Ryan Cameron (great-grandson) will officiate. Interment will follow at Gobbler Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday, January 24th at Smith Family Funeral Home.
