Inous Nance Obituary

Inous Nance, 88, of Springdale, AR formerly of Oak Grove, AR passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019. She was born April 18, 1931 in Osage, AR, the daughter of Walter and Nora Underdown. On October 23, 1948 she was united in marriage with Arlon Nance. Inous will be remembered as a good Christian woman of strength and personality who was proud of the family she raised and the home she tended. She was a gifted cook, gardener and seamstress. She was a mother and wife who guided her family through difficult times with strong spirit. She was raised by her grandpa and grandma who died when she was in her teens. When she met her husband, Arlon, she was accepted into his family and considered them as her family.  She felt like she had gained a mother she had never really had and new brothers and a sister and was most appreciative and loved her new found family thru out the years. Inous was the Matriach of her family and was a singer and played guitar in church in her early years. She loved singing and playing with her husband, family and friends. She also loved fishing with her husband and spending time with family and friends. She lived a life with an on- going personal relationship with God and her faith was an example for her family through all the years of her life. She loved the Lord and loved to study God’s word and witness to the unsaved. Her most treasured accomplishment was being a good wife to a loving husband and mother to her children and grandchildren. She served as the church secretary for many years and was a true prayer warrior for those that needed prayer for their family and friends. Although those who knew her are sure to grieve the void she left, they take comfort in the fact that she has peace, joy and laughter. She expressed her desire to join her husband and be with Jesus her last few months and now she is healed and walking on streets of gold. Her last years of life were enhanced immeasurably by the love and tender care given to her by her family and caregivers. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Shipley and husband Charles of Springdale, Cindy Nance of Springdale, son Richard Nance and wife Peggy of Harrison, grandchildren, Christi Cessna, Shelley Simpson, Matt Wooldridge, Sarah Nance, Andrew Nance, Emily Nance, Kasey Nance. Great-grandchildren, Haley, Arlon Tyler, and Caleb Cessna and Payton, Madison and Katelyn Simpson, Callie, Lillie and Josie Wooldridge and great-grandchildren Jackie, Jamie, Jordan and Bella Nance. Celebration Of Life will be 1:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Richard Nance officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Cemetery.
