Jimmy Don Hale

Jimmy Don Hale, age 85, of Green Forest, AR passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019. He was born June 23, 1934 on his grandfather Marshall’s farm north of Berryville, AR. He was the oldest son of Arvil “Tuck” Hale and Lois Marshall Hale. Jimmy graduated 1953 from Berryville High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958, stationed in Korea near the DMZ  Zone, was an expert Rifleman and later discharged as a SSGT E-6. On September 14, 1958 he was married to Christine Douglas in Green Forest Assembly of God Church. They lived all their married life in Green Forest and were the parents of 4 children. Jimmy was a builder and carpenter from 1959 until he had to quit because of health reasons in 2007. He built more than 100 new homes in the area not counting a number of remodeling jobs. He loved to fish and went every time he could, especially when the Crappie were biting. He took each of his children and taught them how to fish and liked to take his grandchildren. In his later years his grandson, Damon, went with him most of the time. Jimmy was in the National Guard unit in Berryville for 4 years. He was a member of Green Forest Bass Club for several years and loved all the trips and fish fries. He is survived by his wife Christine, his son Steven and wife Betty of Huntsville, AR, his sons-in-law Travis Scarrow and Lesley Cantwell, 6 grandchildren, Damon and Tani Cantwell, Alexander and Stefany Hale, Haley and Hannah Scarrow, 2 Great-grandchildren, Caitlin Dickey and Beckett Hale, one brother Jerry Hale and wife Rita of Berryville, brothers-in law Harold Wheatley and Darrell Gabbard, sisters-in-law Charlotte Peterson and husband John and Mary Douglas, nephew Kirk Hale and niece Marla Hale Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Lesa and Julie and son Michael. His parents, grandparents Jim and Martha Hale and Jim and Ellen Marshall.  Celebration Of Life will be 10:00 AM Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Green Forest Assembly Of God Church with Les Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Pickens Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.

JIMMY LEFT HIS EARTHLY FISHING HOLE TO MOVE ONTO HIS HEAVENLY FISHING HOLE WHERE THE CRAPPIE NEVER STOP BITING, THE FISHING LINE NEVER GETS TANGLED, THERE IS NO CATCH LIMIT AND THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES.
