Larry Miller Obituary

Larry H. Miller, age 72, of Osage, AR passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was born January 23, 1947 in Berryville, AR son of Hurschel Miller and Helen (Clayborn) Miller. Larry attended Alpena Schools, served as the manager of the Boys basketball team and graduated with the class of 1964. He was employed at Green Forest School District for a number of years where he worked in the Maintenance department. He learned how to play the fiddle at 7 years of age and later became a professional fiddler. Larry loved playing in the Backroads Bluegrass Band and The Bartenders. He played in places such as Silver Dollar City, Shepherd Of The Hills and various other places in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Larry enjoyed repairing antique clocks and sheetrock finishing. He is survived by two daughters, Christine  Dodson of Alpena, Tammy Miller of Green Forest, two sisters, Patti McGehee of Alpena, Teresa Shafer and her husband Bobby of Alpena, three grandchildren, Robert Eugene Briskey III of Alpena, Sabrina Rose Miller of Harrison, Jeannie Miller of Harrison, two great grandchildren, Nicholus Whitaker and Trinity Emma Rose Briskey, and a number of nieces and nephews and fellow Musicians. Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by one sister, Sue Smith and brother-in-law, Arlis McGehee. The Graveside Service will be on  Monday, July 8, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Gobbler Cemetery in Osage with Kay Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Gobbler Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
