Ruthie Smith

Ruthie Smith of Green Forest, AR departed this life January 19, 2019. She was 63 years old when the angels carried her precious soul to her Heavenly place of comfort. Ruthie was born June 26, 1955 in Harrison, AR, daughter of the late Rayburn and Essie (Bailey) Snow. She attended Alpena Schools and on July 27, 1976 she was united in marriage to Steve Smith.

Ruthie’s beautiful smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious. She was kind, generous, loving, had a huge heart and always made everyone feel at home around her. Steve was the love of her life, her best friend, and favorite person to be around. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bragging about her grandkids, playing with her grandchildren, singing, dancing, spending time at the lake and camping.

Ruthie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve Smith of the home, Mother-in-law, Joy Smith Molder of Green Forest, Loving mother of Brent and wife Cassie Smith of Green Forest, Anika and husband Jarrod Phillips of Green Forest, Alisha and husband Scott Bailey of Green Forest. Proud Memmy to Leksi Bailey, Mattie Phillips, Hayden Bailey, Barrett Phillips, Parker Smith, Anslee Bailey, and Bella Phillips. Sisters, Shirley Baughman of Harrison, Edith and husband LD Blevins of Alpena, Wilma and husband Dan Ohler of Alpena, Phyllis and husband Ronnie McNair of Alpena, Laura and husband Rob Fraracccio of Rogers, brothers, Tommy and Bill Snow of Green Forest, JR Snow and wife Fairye Sue of Green Forest, Rick Snow and wife June of Alpena and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn and Essie Snow, brother, Fred (Sonny) Snow, brother-in-law, Johnny Baughman and father-in-law, Roy Pence Smith.

Celebration Of Life Service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pat Mannon and Bo Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Alpena Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, January 21, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
