AJ Buckner

Aaron “AJ” Joshua Buckner, age 36, of Green Forest, AR passed away Friday, March 10, 2023. He was born January 20, 1987 in Eureka, CA, son of Carl R. Buckner and Synthia (Taylor) Buckner.

AJ attended Green Forest Schools and was a “Tiger” at heart. He enjoyed playing baseball and football growing up. He was employed at Tyson's in Berryville where he worked in Maintenance Refrigeration.

AJ loved spending time with his family, his wife and kids. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved Razorback football and baseball, going on adventures and trying new things. While attending the Arkansas Tech University he became a member of Phi Lambda Chi Fraternity. He is remembered as not being afraid of anything.  He enjoyed playing video games and watching movies with his kids. He was the master chef, both inside and outside on the grill.

He is survived by  wife, Jolene (Jaeger) Buckner of Green Forest, son, John Buckner, daughter, Alisa Buckner of Green Forest, mother, Synthia Buckner of Alpena, father, Carl Buckner of Green Forest, mother-in-law, Melody Stephens of Berryville, brother-in-law, Wesley Winters of Berryville, sister-in-law Breezy Winters of Berryville, brother, Tyler Buckner and wife Tammy of Green Forest, grandparents Gary and Patricia Taylor of Green Forest, uncle Jim Taylor and wife Andrea Taylor of Berryville, aunt Tina Taylor of Alpena and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family from Arkansas to California, Alaska, Wisconsin and Oregon.

He is preceded in death by grandfather, Robert M. Buckner, grandparents, Ted and Doris Christian,  great-grandparents, Leon and Margaret Taylor, great-grandmother, Faye Carroll and several other family members.  

AJ is fondly remembered as Grandpa’s George and Grandma’s Little Hawk, who has now taken flight on Angel Wings.

Memorial Service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Green Forest Cowboy Church with Pastor Doug Blevins officiating. Services are by Smith Family Funeral Home of Green Forest.
