Billie “Bill” Gene Roberts of Alpena, AR went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 26, 2024. He passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. He was born in Harrison, AR on April 10, 1949, to Gordon and Modena Grisham Roberts. On June 21, 1990, he married Kathleen Asbury.
Bill was a man who loved his family. He worked hard and sacrificed for them to ensure they had the best life possible. He was willing to help anyone at any time they had a need. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from Tyson Foods after 23 years of service. After retirement he found joy in taking care of the family home place and spending time with his family. Through the years he spent time working in construction and as a farmer. He enjoyed bird hunting and teaching his kids to enjoy the outdoors. He was a member of Green Forest Cowboy Church.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Modena Roberts, brother Jimmie K. Roberts and his wife Brenda, infant brother David Lee Roberts, and granddaughter Ariel Ohler.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Roberts of the home, 2 sons, Kevin Roberts and his wife Delora of Harrison and Derek Roberts of Oklahoma, 2 daughters, Johnna Hudspeth of Berryville, and Traci Ohler and her husband Danny of Harrison, and 13 grandchildren: Corey Roberts of Harrison, Tye Roberts of Texas, Justin Roberts of Harrison, Kaedon Roberts of Harrison, Adalee Roberts of Harrison, Kalia Roberts of Harrison, Mercedes Estes of Harrison, Colton Youngblood of Harrison, Allison Hudspeth of Berryville, Leiken Morgan of Greenbrier, Chase Ohler of Greenbrier, McKenzie Roberts of Oklahoma, and Gavin Roberts of Oklahoma. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many family friends.
Celebration of Life service for Bill will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pastor Doug Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Alpena Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, April 29, 2024, at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
