Billy (Bill) Floyd McKee-GREEN FOREST, AR-
The man. The myth. The legend. Bill was born June 28, 1929 in Edmond, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd and Goldie McKee. Bill departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 with the love & support of his wife in Marshall, Arkansas at the age of 91 years young.
Bill enlisted in the United States Army at a very young age serving all his time in Germany. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma and was employed for a time by his brother Erwin McKee at his sewing center.
On October 15th, 1983, Bill and Faye were united in marriage. Together they owned and operated McKee Sewing Center and later opened McKee Motors. Together they served their community for more than three decades. Bill never met a stranger. He was always ready and willing to talk about sewing machines and automobiles. If the talking happened to result in a sale, well that was great too!
After Bill had been in business for a few years, Mark (his son) told him he should have named his business Charity Motors because everyone seemed to leave with a vehicle. Bill couldn't say no when someone was in need of help.
Bill was gifted when it came to sewing machine repair. He truly enjoyed working on all brands and models of sewing machines. Even though he had McKee Motors, Bill never lost his passion for the sewing business. Bill thought that everyone needed at least one sewing machine. He pampered all the customers who brought in sewing machines to be repaired with his kindness and fast service.
In addition to working, Bill and Faye enjoyed playing games, riding motorcycles, traveling across the country in their motorhome, visiting family and seeing different places when they were younger.
Bill was a member and attended First Assembly of God Church in Green Forest, Arkansas. He loved his Pastors, Mark and JoAnna Bryant and his church family.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Faye, one daughter Denise Marsh and husband Wayne, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Marty McKee, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mark McKee and wife Bridgette, of Green Forest, Arkansas; Stepchildren Russell Logan and wife Lovelyn, of Green Forest, Arkansas; Patty Maupin, and husband Keith, of Green Forest, Arkansas; David Walker, of Joplin, Missouri;
