Bud Allen Obituary

Uel “Bud” Allen, age 87 of Shell Knob, MO, went home to be with His Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born October 11, 1937, in Viola, MO to Amos and Rebecca Standlee Allen. On July 16, 1966, he married the love of his life, Eloyce Stebbins.

Known for his sweet and gentle nature like his dad, Bud was a devoted and committed man. He always put his family first. He worked in construction all his life and he was known to be the hardest worker. As a foreman for Haril Chapman Construction, he worked with his crew every step of the way. He felt so blessed to have lived almost all his life on the same property where he was born and raised. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church in Blue Eye.

Bud is survived by his wife Eloyce of the home, daughters Charisse (Craig) Matzenbacher of Oak Grove, Laura (Dale) Snowden of Centerton, and Andrea (Bobby) Snowden of Lampe, MO, and son Gregory (Cyndi) Allen of Shell Knob, MO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Jayme (Steve) Wambold, Cheyne (Amber) Matzenbacher, Caleb (Lindley) Snowden, Brooke (Harrison) Whitt, Sierra Snowden, Kyle Snowden, and Austin Dillard, 11 great grandchildren, Cole, Laney, Cailie, Brooklyn, Hudson, Eden, Barrett, Ryleigh, Merritt, Ever, and Bishop, sister Barb Swofford, brother Don (Ella Jean) Allen, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, brothers Arlis, Lee, Jimmy, and Ken, and sisters Dorothy and Virginia.

Bud will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
