Carroll Battin

Carroll Donaldson Battin of Green Forest went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 10, 2023, joining his wife Jennifer and loved ones who have gone before him. He was born May 24, 1942, to Earl and Gertrude Neal Battin. He was a lifelong resident of Green Forest.

On May 11, 1963, Carroll was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jennifer Sue Mowbray, and together they raised 2 children, Mark and Shelly.

Carroll was a hard-working man, a master craftsman known throughout the community for his amazing woodworking skills, building cabinets, rustic style furniture including nightstands, beds, and dressers, and novelty crafts such as toy trucks and gift shop type items. If it was made from wood, he could build it! He also enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son Mark Battin of Green Forest, daughter Shelly Fultz of Green Forest, grandchildren Ronnie Fultz, Jacob Fultz, and Nakisha Fultz-Thomas and husband James, brother Clay Battin, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Jennifer Battin, parents Earl and Gertrude Battin, brother Donald Battin, and sister Nettie Fern.

Celebration of Life service for Carroll will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 16 at Smith Family Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Felten officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, August 15 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Beth’el Baptist Church of Green Forest.
