It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of James Curtis Davis, affectionately known as Curtis to his friends and family. He was born on January 17, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ervin Dwayne and Lena Mae Seitz Davis. He departed this world peacefully, surrounded by family on August 10, 2024, at the age of 63 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was a proud and loving father to his son, James Russell Davis and his wife Alisha Davis, and a loving grandfather to Ashlyn, Regan, Dustin, and Hunter Davis and Zander Gonzalez.
He is also survived by his mother Lena Davis of Green Forest, sister Shelley Stewart and her husband Wayne of Texas, brother Jeff Davis of Tennessee, nephews Christopher (and wife Charity), Kennedy, and Parker Stewart, and former spouse Theresa Flippo Armer. He is preceded in death by his father Dwayne Davis and his brother Steve Davis.
Curtis was a graduate of Green Forest High School and Vo-Tech. He was a skilled carpenter who took great pride in his work. He enjoyed fixing things or as he called it, “tinkering around.” He was the first to offer help when someone had a need. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who loved him and who were touched by his generous spirit. Rest in peace, Curtis.
Celebration of Life graveside service will be 11:30 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Farewell Cemetery with Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM prior to the service at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.net
