Dan Perry Ohler Obituary

Dan Perry Ohler, age 88, of Alpena, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday evening, July 5, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Dan was born December 7, 1936, at Osage, AR, to Ellis Ray Ohler and Vina Beulah Armstrong Ohler. On May 16, 1964, he married the love of his life, Wilma Snow, and they settled in their hometown of Alpena, raising 3 children: Danny, Shawn, and Staci.

Dan left a legacy of love for God, family values, and hard work for his children and grandchildren to follow. He spent his career working as a master electrician/HVAC technician, working many years for Milam Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Harrison. He enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles and trucks, especially 1960’s model pickup trucks. He would often rebuild a truck, drive it for a short time and then sell it, only to turn around and buy another truck to rebuild and sell. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, working as master diver and metalsmith, serving on the USS Renshaw (DD-499) in the Pacific. He was a member of Alpena Church of Christ.

Dan will be missed dearly by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife Wilma of the home; children, Danny (Traci) Ohler of Harrison, Shawn (Tracey) Ohler of Alpena, and Staci (Travis) Prewitt of Alpena. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Leiken (Drew) Morgan of Greenbrier, Jacob Prewitt of Alpena, Chase (Morgan) Ohler of Greenbrier, Brynn Prewitt and Will Reed of Little Rock, Barron Ohler of El Dorado, and Cassidy Ohler of Alpena; great grandchildren Vivienne Jo Morgan of Greenbrier, and Bentley Chase Ohler of Greenbrier; sister Mary Black of Springfield, MO; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins,  and brothers and sisters in laws.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ellis Ray Ohler and Vina Beulah Ohler Armstrong, and Curley Armstrong; brothers Ray Ohler, Eugene Ohler, and Dale Ohler; sisters Lorene Bowman, and Alene Morris; and granddaughter Ariel Danene Ohler.
