Danny McKinney Obituary

Danny Wesley McKinney of Berryville passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 82, only to hear the loving and welcoming words of his Lord and Savior, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Danny was born in Wichita, KS, on June 26, 1943, to Edward and Marie Peppers McKinney. Soon after graduating high school, Danny married the love of his life, Nadine Drollinger, on November 4, 1961, and together they raised four boys, Daniel, Jerry, Darin, and Donald.

In 1975, Danny founded Dan’s Heating and Cooling in Wichita, with Nadine working at his side to help run the business. His marketing skills of bright orange trucks and the slogan “Don’t Fan, Call Dan,” helped grow the business until they sold it in 1987, relocating their family to the beautiful Ozark mountains, settling just south of Berryville. Dan’s Heating and Cooling has continued to grow into a large company serving the Wichita community, and they recently celebrated 50 years in business, something the family is so proud to see how God blessed their humble beginnings.

After moving, Danny found joy in many hobbies like working around their home in the country, fishing, camping, and traveling with Nadine. But his true passion in life was doing the Lord’s work, especially serving as a Gideon. His greatest joy was to give people a Bible, knowing the eternal impact it could make on their life. He and Nadine traveled the world with the Gideon’s, passing out Bible’s and praying with people to come to know Jesus as their Savior. Locally, he preached in area churches, sharing his love for the Gideon’s ministry. He served 3 years as the vice president of the Gideon’s for the state of Arkansas. Only Heaven will be able to reveal the full impact of Danny’s ministry of giving people a Gideon Bible.

Danny will be remembered for his love for God, his love for Nadine for 63+ years, his love for his boys and their families, and his love for the Gideon’s ministry. He was a member of Rudd Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Danny is survived by his wife Nadine of the home, his 4 sons: Daniel McKinney and his wife Ruth of Berryville, Jerry McKinney of Naples, FL, Darin McKinney and his wife Sheila of Wichita, KS, and Donald McKinney of Berryville; his 9 grandchildren: Colton Gates, Daniel McKinney, Joshua McKinney, Amanda Fredsgaard, Alex McKinney, Jacob McKinney, Katy McKinney, Krystal Paul, and Nicholas McKinney; his 12 great grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Morfitt of Wetmore, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob McKinney.
