Dona Kay Byrd, age 71, of Osage, AR passed away in her home Thursday, October 7, 2021. She was born in Harrison, AR on September 6, 1950 daughter of JC and Wanda Youngblood.
Dona graduated from Alpena High School in 1968. She was employed for a number of years at Kerruso Christian Apparel. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing (especially when she was winning,) cooking and gardening. She had a love of photographs which adorned the walls in her home. She also had a love of animals and spoiled them immensely. She was known for her kind heart, big smile and quirky personality. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Johnny Byrd, sons Randy Byrd (Tina) of Jasper, Roger Grisham (Holly) of Alpena, Ricky Grisham (Jennifer) of Imboden, AR, John Byrd (Summer) of Alpena, daughter Burnetta Chaney (Nathan) of Harrison, brothers, Gene Youngblood (Debbie) of Harrison, Larry Glen Youngblood (Lana) of Green Forest, sister Gail Collins (Joe) of Alpena, grandchildren, RJ and Vanessa Byrd of Harrison, Dallas Byrd of Jasper, Tosha and Derek Gellerman of Jasper, Trey and Callie Grisham of Pottsville, AR, Faith and Austin Lehr of Berryville, Cade Grisham of Imboden, Hunter, Jayden and Conner Byrd of Alpena, Bryson Bauer of Harrison, Rylan Bauer of Harrison and 10 great-grandchildren.
Dona is preceded in death by her parents, infant twin brother, Donnie Fay Youngblood, and infant sister Betty Jean Youngblood.
Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Osage Baptist Church with Pastor Lannie Younger officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Monday, October 11, 2021, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
