Donald Ray Masters Jr., passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 28, 2023, surrounded by his family. Don (better known as Terry by his family) was born January 30, 1959, to Donald Ray Masters Sr. and Goldie Lavonne (Carteman) Masters in Woodward, OK. He worked as a caregiver of people with disabilities with Independent Living and had worked as an oil rig manager with Southwest Energy. He was also a minister.
He lived his life with the world’s view, not knowing what all the Lord had in mind for him. In 1989, the Lord showed him the way to live his life. Don did a 180 to completely change his and his family’s lives for the better. He was on fire for the Lord and was eager to spread the Gospel of Jesus. There was not a day that went by that he did not share the Gospel with someone.
In the last weeks of his life, while sick and weak in the hospital, he would talk to each nurse, doctor, resident, and anyone that came into his room about how God could help them. A nurse came into his room when he was very weak and not doing well. She wanted to share with Don’s wife how his words from the Lord had encouraged her with a specific family need. In the last week and a half of his life, one of his grandsons came to visit, and while there, God gave Don the strength to lead him to the Lord. This tells the true story of Don Masters.
He loved everyone whether family or not. He was truly a servant of God and wanted to help anyone to lean on the Lord in time of need. If you have not been blessed by Don Masters, then you never met him.
He leaves a legacy of love; his loving wife of 46 years, Amalia, of the home; six children, Edgar Masters of Harrison, Lisa Masters of Harrison, Lori Strough (Mark) of Berryville, Terresa Weaver (Josh) of Harrison, Austin Robertson of Harrison, and Carlos Robertson of Harrison; three brothers, Steve Masters (Donna) of Pryor, OK, Mike Masters (Kelly) of Berryville, AR, and Randy Masters (Qiana) of FL, and one sister Cheryl Roth (Gary) of WY; sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vicki Masters, and brother Rick Masters. As Don would say, “We are blessed, highly favored, and destined to prosper.
