Donna Duhon Obituary

Our dear Donna Rebekah Gerrard Duhon went home to the Lord above on February 14, 2024. She was born on October 7, 1960, to Virginia Albo and Richard W. Gerrard, Sr. She left this life at the age of 63.

Becky, as she liked to be called, lived a life full of adventure and wild tales. She was known for her beautiful smile and ability to always see the sun in the darkest of rooms. She had an aura and it shined so bright. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed learning various trades. Becky’s first real job was at Mae’s Polar King in Coalville, Utah. Becky went to Cosmetology school right out of high school and later went on to school to become a nurse assistant at local hospitals. She worked for a mental health hospital as a caregiver in Evanston, Wyoming and Salt Lake City, Utah. She spent many years later in life working at a local school in Arkansas helping with anything that needed to be fixed.

Outside of her work life, she enjoyed a host of different hobbies. She enjoyed reading her Bible, tanning, cleaning, or even volunteering at the local thrift store just to get out of the house and help someone. When she was young, she would sew doll clothes for her daughter just for fun in her free time. You could bet she was making sure her faith was known and was she was so eager to teach about the Lord. She also loved to collect things no matter what it may be because, as she said, “you never known when you might need it,” which always proved to be right at the most unexpected of times. Heaven forbid if you threw anything away! That was a war of its own, but it leaves one with a warm and funny memory to always look back upon.

On top of all this though, Becky loved her children, grandchildren, and family. Her walls were covered in pictures from floor all the way to the ceiling above. It was her pride and joy and she made sure the world knew that when they walked in her room. She was so full of love and sometimes misunderstood. That’s what made her so unique and wonderful though! She was a beaming light, and she knew what was important to her.

She is survived by her three sons, Christopher Workman (Layla) of Sandy, Utah, Micah Gerrard of Berryville, Arkansas, and Joseph Zaloudeck of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and her daughter Ieleah Snyder (Jeremy) of Freeport, Florida. Also surviving are siblings Vonna Rees (George) of Alpena, Arkansas, Teresa Teter (Kevin) of Berryville, Arkansas, and Billy Gerrard of Berryville, Arkansas, and her 8 grandchildren: Kingston, Triston, Saoirse, Scarlett, Stella, Sara, Lucian, and Dorian, and 1 great-granddaughter, Sutton, who was born just over a week ago. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Gerrard, Sr., mother Virginia Albo, stepmother Karen Gerrard, and oldest brother Richard Gerrard, Jr.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Becky will be 6:00 PM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
