Elaine Renee Snyder, known lovingly as Renee, was born on July 31, 1961, in White Salmon, Washington, and passed away on April 29, 2026, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She lived a life marked by faith, compassion, and devotion to others, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to encourage all who knew and loved her.
Renee was a woman whose heart reflected the love of Christ in both word and deed. She was a Christian whose faith was not something she simply spoke about, but something she lived each day. She loved the Lord deeply and trusted Him through every season of life. Her life was a testimony that even in ordinary moments, a faithful heart can shine brightly and touch countless lives. Those who knew Renee will remember her as selfless, faith-filled, and loving, three words that beautifully captured the spirit with which she moved through the world.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Woodall, stepfather, Ron Woodall of Alpena, stepmother Patsy LaFollette of Burlington, sister Nancy Jo (Gary) Beese of Alpena, brother Skip LaFolloette of Alpena, daughter Vanessa (Brody)Reed of Holiday Island, sons Jason May (fiance Shelly Hilton) of Alpena and Tristan Snyder of Little Rock, stepson Derek Snyder of Lake Pearl, LA, stepdaughter Sara Snyder Ponthier of LA, and grandchildren Rhonnie and Bayleigh Jetton, Xandra Arnold, Jayden Overby, Nicolas May, Ethan May, Kenneth and Beau Martin and 3 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by husband Clyde Snyder, father Lester LaFollette, daughter Rebekah May, grandparents Stubb and Eliece Clark, and grandson Zerek Jetton.
Her family was one of her greatest joys, and she cherished the gift of being a mother. She loved spending time with her children and treasured family gatherings that brought everyone together in laughter, conversation, and love. Her presence at those moments made them warmer, stronger, and more complete.
Renee graduated from high school and later earned her Nursing License at the Nursing Institute of Louisiana. Nursing was more than a career to her. It was her passion and her calling. She found purpose in helping others and in knowing that she had made a difference in their lives. Her work was an extension of her caring heart, and she served with a spirit of kindness, patience, and dignity. In every act of care, she demonstrated that service to others is one of the highest expressions of love.
Beyond her work and her family, Renee had simple joys that brought her peace and happiness. She enjoyed playing mystery computer games, board games, and cards, and she found delight in the time spent sharing those moments with the people she loved. These interests reflected her playful side and her appreciation for connection, fellowship, and the little blessings that brighten daily life. Whether she was gathered around a table with family or enjoying a quiet moment of entertainment, she understood how to embrace life with gratitude.
Renee’s life reminds us that the measure of a person is not found in possessions or status, but in the love they give, the faith they keep, and the lives they influence along the way. She lived with purpose, and her example calls us to do the same. She showed that a gentle spirit can be strong, that a faithful heart can endure, and that love expressed through service can leave a lasting mark. Her journey on earth is complete, but the light she shared continues to shine in the hearts of those she touched.
As we remember Renee, we give thanks for the gift of her life and for the many ways she blessed her family, her patients, and her friends. Though she is no longer with us in body, we hold fast to the hope of eternal life and the promise of God’s presence. In that hope, we can face sorrow with faith and grief with assurance, knowing that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and faithful to comfort His children. Renee’s memory will remain a source of strength, inspiration, and love, and her life will continue to speak of a woman who walked humbly, loved deeply, and trusted God completely.
Celebration of Life for Renee will be 11 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Osage Baptist Church. Online condolences can be made at smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
