Gary Allen West, Jr., passed away in his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 51. He was born in Harrison, AR on November 8, 1973, to Gary and Beverley (Thomason) West.
Known to be happy and talkative, Gary enjoyed so much in life, from tinkering with and inventing things, to gardening, to cooking. When he was younger, he would ride his bike all over the neighborhood, enjoying the simple life of being a kid in a small town. He enjoyed watching TV, but he always had something else going on at the same time, either tinkering with something, playing a game, or watching more than one show at a time. He also had a special love for dogs.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne West, his father Gary West, Sr. and wife Marilyn, his mother Beverley West, sister, Robin West, niece, Andrea Conner, nephews, Anthony Conner and George Passmore, uncle, Wayne Thomason and wife Mary, cousins, Coetta Lindt, Siera Martin, Clifford Thomason, Christopher Thomason, Judy McCullah and son Christopher Johnson, Robert Leach and daughter Jennifer, grandmother, Margie West, many grand-nephews and nieces, as well as other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Manley and Geneva West, Clifford and Thelma Thomason, Clifford and Dixie Leach, Lena West Ashley, great aunt Donnie Opal Dierking and, cousin Rachel Carson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christopher Keehner, who Gary considered as his own son. Chistopher was a wonderful friend and caregiver.
Celebration of Life service for Gary will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Smith Family Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
