Gordon Lane Stough, Sr. Obituary
Gordon Lane Stough, Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born January 29, 1947, in Newton, Kansas to the late William Carl Stough and Hermina Ann Heibert Stough.
The family soon moved to Wichita where he lived until 1982 when he moved his family to the Ozarks.
In Kansas, for 15 years, his occupation was a Diesel Mechanic. He continued that line of work until 2010 when he retired. Many folks in the trucking industry considered him the best Diesel Mechanic in Northwest Arkansas. Of course, family and friends knew he was the best. For years, they would still seek his advice on truck repair and “twisting wrenches.”
Gordan was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Randolph William Stough and his only sister, Kathleen Lois Stough Clayton.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Viola Leigh “Sandi” Parker Stough, two sons Gordon Lane “Butch” Stough Jr, and James Lee Stough and partner Jennie. Gordon is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Cory Stough Batton, Krystal Stough Cummings Schmidt and husband Grant, Hope Leann Stough and husband Quinton, Ashleigh Heather Stough Blecha and husband Dustin, Cameron James Stough and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hospice of the Hills in Harrison for their gentle care and compassion. In lieu of flowers please think of and support Hospice House, PO Box 1927, Harrison, 72601.
