Gregory Paul Anthony

Gregory Paul Anthony, age 70, of Green Forest, AR passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. He was born May 18, 1952, in Grinnell, Iowa son of the late Daniel and Marcella “Wilson” Anthony.

On September 2, 1971, Greg was united in marriage with the love of his life, Roxanne Gustafson. To this union 2 sons were born. In 1986 they moved from Nebraska to a farm in the Denver area. Greg was always a hard worker. Soon after moving he began clearing the land and remodeling the old homestead. He was known as a jack of all trades and he could fix, remodel, invent or repair just about anything. He liked fishing, hunting, mechanics, helping anyone in need, and spending time with his family. Greg contracted for many poultry companies and had such a mechanical and detailed mind to figure out nesting systems and their placement. From box to slats to assembling nests for gathering fertile eggs to service the hatcheries. He and family assembled nests in 8 different states. He took pride in all his labors aside from battling Parkinson’s disease for 33 years. Greg was a member of Burlington Baptist Church where he faithfully attended for as long as he was able.

He is survived by his wife Roxanne Anthony of the home, sons, Travis Anthony of Green Forest and TJ Anthony and wife Rachael of Green Forest, brother, Daniel Anthony and wife Ryoko of Festus, MO, sister, Cheryl Klima of Wisner, NE, grandchildren, Gavin Anthony of Harrison, Micah Anthony of Green Forest, Alexus Anthony of Kansas City, MO, Elijah Anthony of Green Forest and bonus grandchildren, Ellie Brooks, Hunter Chafin and Jacob Kauffman.

He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Marcella Anthony.

Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Brother Dwight Crowley and Brother Steve Pelz officiating. Interment will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, May 8, at Smith Family Funeral Home.
