Marion Harold Sooter, age 89, of Oak Grove, passed away on June 18, 2026, at his home. He was born August 13, 1936, in Oak Grove to Marion Hastin and Irene Plumlee Sooter. On December 9, 1954, he married Joicey Lee Villines and they were married for 59 years when she passed away.

Harold and Joicey spent their life in Oak Grove where they raised 2 children, Randy and Regina. He was a hard worker all his life. He and Joicey owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. They later purchased the Oak Grove Grocery and Feed Store and operated it from 1980-1996. He also spent many years working in the poultry business, driving a truck for Co-op Feed Mill, working in the hayfield, and doing carpentry work.

When Joicey passed away in 2014, and with age and health issues taking their toll, Harold struggled to find joy. He defined himself by his work, and he dearly missed the love of his life. It is a comfort to know they are now reunited.

Harold is survived by his children, Randy Sooter of Oak Grove and Regina Sooter Snyder of Berryville. He is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Irene Sooter, wife Joicey Sooter, brother David Ralph Sooter, and sister Audrey Grace Sooter Gifford.
