James Marcil Obituary

James Louis Marcil, age 73, of Osage, AR passed away in his home on Monday December 7, 2020. He was born July 19, 1947 in Troy, New York, son of Louis and Teresa (Forget) Marcil

On December 28, 1968 he married the love of his life, Beverly Heil. Jim joined the US Marine Corps in 1966. His career began with a tour in Viet Nam, then Camp Pendleton, CA, San Diego. He was assigned to the military police before being sent to Washington DC.  At this time, his career took a turn into the music field. Jim was assigned to the commandants own Drum and Bugle Corps. He participated in 4 presidential inauguration performances in Canada and Australia, and over 300 throughout the United States. He retired from the military after 23 years. After moving to Arkansas he worked a number of years at Pace in Harrison. James loved his family, his friends and his country. He enjoyed playing different brass instruments, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife Beverly Marcil of the home, two sons, Jim Marcil and wife Reina of Thornton, CO,  Louis Marcil and wife Lenora of Green Forest, three sisters, Judy Figueroa and husband Steve of CA, Janet Peck and husband Everet of CA, June Jackson of CA and his grandchildren, Louis Marcil and Briana.

He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Teresa Marcil, one brother, Joe Marcil and one sister Jane Tyson.

Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 14, 2020 at Osage Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gobbler Cemetery with military honors.
