Janice Phillips Keck

Janice Berniece Phillips Keck of Berryville, AR was born May 21, 1923 on Dog Branch near Osage, Arkansas to Billie and Roxie Phillips. She departed this life Saturday August 18, 2018 at the age of 95.

Janice was united in Marriage, Feb 14, 1940 to Leonard Keck of Dry Fork, Arkansas. Leonard died, Feb. 6, 2011. Her only sister Jessie Wilson also preceded her in death in 2017.

Janice spent most of her life in Carroll County Arkansas, but in her younger years she, Leonard, and son Stephen spent summers in Colorado and Utah working and cutting timber.

Janice was owner and operator of The Cut N’ Curl Beauty Shop. I think she was the Pin Curl Queen of Berryville during those years.

Janice was an accomplished artist, gardener, quilter, and cook. When she entered her art, flowers, or something she had canned in the Carroll County Fair she usually came home with a Blue Ribbon.

She was a long time member of the Church of Christ in Berryville, AR. She is survived by her daughter Gwen Willhite-Gilliam and a son Stephen Keck both of Berryville, four grandchildren Lisa Renee Powers, Anthony Keck, Kristina Keck, and Julie McCall, great grandchildren Danielle Snider, Kayla Gray, and Shane McCall, great great granddaughters Ashley Sears, Marcella Gray and Roxie Gray.

Service and burial will be 11:00 AM, Saturday September 1, 2018 at Gobbler Cemetery Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Good Shepard Humane Society would be appreciated, serving Carroll County.
