Joel Randall Redus

Joel Randall Redus, 81, of Oak Grove, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on February 7, 2022.

Joel is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 61 years; 4 children, Linda Esders and husband Ed, Joel (Jody) Redus and wife Valerie, Laura Martin and husband Randy, Daniel Redus; brother Paul Redus; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Joel was a loving father, dedicated husband, and a sincere friend to everyone.

Joel retired from Ford in 1991 where he worked as a certified industrial mechanic. He never stopped being a hard worker, for 40 years he worked at Ford and also owned and operated his own construction company.  

His family was his priority. He made sure there were family vacations every year. He made sure his family had opportunity to attend and be involved in church functions. The Redus house was known for being the youth group hang out and Joel was always right in the middle of whatever was happening.  

He praised the Lord at his church, First Apostolic Church in Chicago Heights, IL for 30 years and more recently at Christ Tabernacle in Oak Grove AR. 

Joel was a rock for his family and a father figure to many. He was strong in his faith; he loved the Lord and he loved telling others about God’s love for them.    

Joel is remembered for his kind smile, his hard work and for leading so many to Christ.

Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 11th, 2022, at Christ Tabernacle, 101 College St., Blue Eye, AR., with Randy Martin officiating.  Interment will follow at Blue Eye Cemetery Blue Eye, MO. 

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM before the service. 

Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
