Johnnie (Ila Rae) Moore, age 92, of Berryville, AR passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was born at home, March 2, 1928 at Osage, AR, daughter of Jim Frank and Mattie (Thorne) Bell.
Johnnie graduated from Alpena High School in 1946. On April 15, 1946 she married Harold Richard Moore. They lived in Oklahoma and Arkansas and worked side by side building houses, owning and operating a lumber yard and furniture store. Richard and Johnnie taught their family to: put God, family and church first, love unconditionally and to be a good steward.
Geegee, as she was known by family, always had a smile and lived a life serving others. Ever the hostess, the first thing she’d ask when anyone entered her home was, “Aren’t you hungry? Can I get you something to eat or drink?” She was an excellent seamstress and cook. Her favorite pastime was playing board games with family and friends, especially dominoes in which she would usually win. She will lovingly be remembered for her generous ways, her contagious giggle, and her countless collection of Cool Whip bowls.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Chaney and husband Don of Berryville, Kathy Smith and husband Jim of Green Forest; grandchildren, Brad Chaney and wife Danette of Urbanette, Dale Seitz of Berryville, Steve Smith and wife Regina of Hot Springs, Rick Smith and wife Tiffany of Salem, IL, Sheila Robnett and husband Casey of Bella Vista; great-grandchildren, Matthew and wife Ellen Smith, Jacob, Bella, and Lily Smith all of Hot Springs, Hunter Seitz of Osage, Chaney Seitz of Harrison, Cole and Will Chaney of Urbanette, Collin, Tyler and Abby Smith of Salem, IL; Hudson, Owen, and Preston Robnett of Bella Vista; brother-in-law, Bill Moore and wife Betty of Harrison, sisters-in-law Grace and Marilyn Moore both of OK as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Moore, granddaughter, Christie Seitz, sister, Ina Mae Disheroon, and a number of brothers & sisters-in-law dear to her heart.
