Johnny (John) McCreary

Johnny (John) Darrell McCreary of Green Forest, born December 28, 1944, in Blue Eye, Missouri left this life on August 20, 2023. He served America for 6 years in the Army and Reserves and received special recognition as a Sharpshooter. His passions were Driving Race Cars, throwing Horseshoes, Hunting, Fishing and NASCAR. He spent many years of his professional career as a Truck Driver for Daisy Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe & Vada McCreary. Three brothers Edwin, Fred and Roy Lee (Bimbo) McCreary. Two children Leslie Dodson and an infant daughter, Angela Jo McCreary.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Jean Ann McCreary, one brother Rex McCreary and one sister Lorine Newboles both of Green Forest, and his daughter Shelly McCreary Owens of Pineville, AR and two Sons Joe McCreary Macon and his husband Michael of Springdale, AR and Noah McCreary and his wife Casey of Green Forest, AR. Debbie Hall a close family friend. Seven Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.

Johnny will always be known for his love of Family, Community and a good, brewed beverage. Gone from this world but forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life service for Johnny will be scheduled for a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
