Jose Cortez

Jose Cortez of Green Forest, died on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born July 25, 1934, in Jalisco, Mexico to Angel and Mariana Cortez.

Jose was a happy man who loved to smile. He was a people person, and he knew no strangers. He loved to have his coffee and bread or donuts every day. He loved to work. He worked for All Around Landscaping for many years before retiring. But most of all, Jose loved his family and he loved God.

He is survived by his wife, Braulia Rivera; 11 children, Eva, Luis, Angel, Ignacio, Lucila, Maria, Lidilia, Lorena, Rudy, Mary and Yady; 46 grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Angel and Mariana, and 2 children, Ramona and Antonio.

Celebration of Life services for Jose will be Wednesday, March 29, at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pastor Hector Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Grove Cemetery in Green Forest. Online condolences can be made at smithfamiyfuneralhome.net.
