Luther B. (Boogan) Wilson SR. of Eureka Springs, AR. departed this life August 29, 2009 in Eureka Springs. He was born on his familys property off Rockhouse Road, on March 19, 1920, son of Luther Wilson and Ethel (Ross) Wilson. He served his country in the United States Army during World War 11 from April 1942 until January 1946. After returning to Eureka Springs, he joined the Naval Reserve for several years. In April 1949 he was united in marriage to Pauline Wilder. He was a lifetime member of the Eureka Springs Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Lions Club and First Christian Church. He worked with Boy Scouts Troops #67 in Eureka Springs for several years and served as Scout Master for two years. Boogan attended the Eureka Technical Institute , where he received a diploma in watchmaking in 1950. Later in life, he used these skills to build several beautiful Grandfather clocks. He was a master carpenter and woodworker. He and son Terry, were in business together as Wilson & Son Construction for many years. He built the Tradewinds Motel and the Coach House Inn, along with many homes in the surrounding areas. He worked with other local contractors on Brighton Ridge Nursing Home and the Eureka Inn motel, also remodeling work on the Crescent and Basin Park Hotel. He is survived by sons: Terry Lee Wilson of Eureka Springs and L.B. Wilson Jr. and wife Paula of Eureka Springs, daughters: Dixie Grim and husband David of Hampton, AR. and Betty Bean of Berryville, Niece: Joanne Grogan of Eureka Springs, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Louis Wilson of California and sister-in-law and companion Marilyn Wilson of Eureka Springs. Besides his parents, Boogan is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Pauline Wilson, daughter, Shirley Teeter, Brothers, Dick, Jack, Johnny and sisters, Lucille, Sue, Betty, and Sally. Celebration Of Life Service will be 1:00P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at First Christian Church in Eureka Springs with Pastor Phillip Wilson officiating. A Military interment will follow at Eureka Springs Cemetery. Services by Smith Family Funeral Home of Green Forest, AR. Memorials may be made to Eureka Springs Fire Department.
