Lavon Tibbets

Lavon Tibbets, age 82, of Oak Grove, AR passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday, October 26, 2020. She was born May 31, 1938 at Enon, AR daughter of the late Delson and Millie (Jones) Blevins.

Lavon graduated from School Of The Ozarks and on May 21, 1956 she was united in marriage to Dallas Tibbets. They were married 64 years, 5 months and 5 days. She and Dallas traveled to many different places in the United States. Lavon never met a stranger, loved helping people and always believed the best about others. She enjoyed square dancing, flowers, gardening, canning and sewing, but her greatest joy in life was her family. She worked at Tyson’s Company Store for a number of years before retiring. Lavon was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Dallas Tibbets, sons, Doug Tibbets and wife Teresa, Garland Tibbets and Bryan Tibbets all of Oak Grove. 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, brothers, L.D. Blevins and wife Edith, Charlie Blevins and wife Pauline, sister, Vicki Pacheco and a host of friends.

 Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ferlin Tibbets, grandson, Anthony Tibbets, sisters, Della Butler, Ella McCullough, Betty Tipton, Norma White and brothers Jack and J.C. Blevins.

Celebration Of Life will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Eye Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM before the service begins.
