LeRoy McCreary Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of LeRoy McCreary announce his passing on October 31, 2022, at the age of 80 years old.  LeRoy McCreary, of Blue Eye, Missouri, son of Floyd and Macie (Jones) McCreary was born August 24, 1942, in Blue Eye, Mo.  His 80 years on this earth was well spent.

LeRoy graduated Blue Eye High School in 1960.  He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army where he reached the rank of Sergeant. He was a proud member of Spring Creek Church in Hurley, Mo and Calvary Temple Full Gospel Church in Blue Eye, Mo.   LeRoy will be remembered as a loyal, hardworking, man of integrity.  LeRoy worked at Kimberling City Bowling Alley for many years where he made lifelong friends.  He later retired from Stone County Road and Bridge as a heavy equipment operator in 2004 to live his dream of life on the water.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife.  LeRoy made lasting memories with his brothers boating and fishing on Table Rock Lake and hunting the hills of Northern Missouri with friends.

He loved to be surrounded by good friends and easily made them everywhere he went.  His encouraging words and heartfelt hugs will forever be remembered by family and friends.

LeRoy was known for his kind and compassionate spirit.  He was a godly man who awoke each day ready to serve God.  He began everyday with his Bible reading and prayer. He set the example for his family as a loving father, grandfather, and devoted Christian.  His strong faith put the love of Jesus into action.  In LeRoy’s words, “don’t let the things of this world keep you from heaven.  Oh kids, don’t miss it, he’s real.  Go with God."  We thank our Lord for sharing this selfless wonderful man with us.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Finis McCreary and Joy Dean McCreary; and sister, Betty Chaney.

Survivors include: daughters, Lori Hartsell of Berryville, Arkansas and Shari Culp (Rick) of Gladstone, Missouri; brother, Larry McCreary (Cuba) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sister, Brenda Webb (Jerry) of Farmington, Arkansas; sister, Jewell Lloyd of Owasso, Oklahoma; sister, Pauline Metz of Calico Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
