Lois Katherine Wise

Lois Katherine Wise, 84, entered into rest September 18, 2021, at her home in Fort Smith. She was born February 14, 1937, at the family farm near Farewell, Arkansas, to Jesse and Lois Keithley Walker. She graduated from Green Forest High School in 1954 and was married to Jewell Wise on June 11, 1954. She worked 15 years for the Green Forest Tribune (later Carroll County News) and 14 years for the Holiday Inn and Sheraton Inn in Fort Smith.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell in 2018; sisters, Pauline Matlock, Emma Carpenter, and Betty Hackworth; bother, Jewel Walker; and daughter-in-law, Tressa Wise. She is survived by two sons, Bill Wise, and Rick Wise and wife Janet; eight grandchildren, Abraham Guzman, Ben Guzman and Nicole, Billy Wise, Jesse Wise and wife Kristin, Brittany Oringer and husband Ryan, Kelsey Wise and Matt, Elizabeth Janes and husband Jesse, and William Wise; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Katherine adored her grandchildren and their children, loved taking vacations with Jewell and family and friends, and treasured the fellowship and company of her many church friends. She was a member of The Pentecostal Church of Fort Smith. Memorials may be sent to The Pentecostal Church (New Sanctuary Chair Campaign) at 3700 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR, 72904.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Carrollton Cemetery, Alpena, Arkansas.
