Lu Ann Tanner of Green Forest, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born on February 18, 1943, in Butler, Missouri, to Tacey Lane. On February 22, 1979, she was married to George Tanner, and the two were married for 42 years. She was an incredibly loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She was famous for her incredible cooking, her spotlessly clean house, and her assertive attitude. She was strong, tough, and endlessly loving.
Lu Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Tacey Lane; her brother, Lyndon Lane; and her daughter, Jamie McConnell. She is survived by husband George Tanner of Green Forest; Cousin Eddie and wife Marie Tyson of Green Forest; sons Greg and wife Yvonne McConnell of Green Forest, Eric and wife Lynn Tanner of Harrison, Kenneth and wife Sherri Tanner of Alpena, Jody Tanner of Harrison, and Danny and wife Dawn Tanner of Green Forest; Niece Stephanie and husband Brad King of Harrison, grandchildren Jessica and husband Kevin Talley of Harrison, Raymond Tanner of Harrison, Telisha Malotte of Green Forest, Uriah Tanner of Green Forest, Brendon and wife Dedra McConnell of Green Forest, Stephanie Tanner of Green Forest, Jody Tanner, Jr., of Harrison, Tyler Tanner of Green Forest, Alyssa Jones of Harrison, Olivia and husband Dalton Gilley of Franklin; as well as a number of great grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at 5:30 PM.
