Melvin Ray Hutcherson, "Country," born on November 02, 1952, passed away on April 20, 2023.
Mel retired from truck driving after 35 years and was a man of many talents. He could fix anything he put his hands on and was the hardest worker around.
Dad will be missed by many as he could make a friend wherever he went. He was loved by many, loyal, honest, and will be remembered for always doing right by others.
He had a love for family, was an awesome dancer and loved to ride his motorcycle. As a master mechanic of antique vehicles, he could build anything from the ground up. Dad was also proud to be a certified suicide awareness counselor and took this role seriously. He rode for BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) and RU4C (Riders United for Children). He also contributed to organizations for children in need. Dad would drop anything at any time to be there for anyone who needed help.
He is preceded in death by his best friend/life partner Glenda. He is survived by his beautiful daughters Mindy, Melody, Melanie, Mandy, Megan and Mary. Grandchildren: Brady, Benjamin, Breslin, Chelsey, Caitlyn, Dielle, Avery, Alex, Eva, Levi, Eliza, and Ellie. Great Grandchildren: Skylar, Westlyn, and Adalyn.
There is no doubt that dad is feeling the wind in his face on his bike or cutting the rug on the dance floor in heaven. He will be known and remembered as Melvin, Mel, and Country but the best name that he was proud to be called will always be "Dad". Fly high with the angels Daddy and know you mattered and were loved more than you'll ever know. If we go to the bars and honky tonks, we will definitely have one for you. Roll on.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Online condolences can be made at smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
