Michael Wesley Matlock

Michael Wesley Matlock, age 61, of Springdale, AR, entered the presence of His  Savior on Saturday, August 14th, 2021.  He was born June 2, 1960 in Salamanca, NY, the son of James “Pug” and Doris Hamilton Matlock.  He lived most of his life in Green Forest.  

Michael loved everything about life, from making people laugh, to spending time with his family, to enjoying each moment of the day and so much more.  Everything he did seemed to be done in a big way, even his passion for hot rods, drag racing and working on cars.  He was recently employed as a Transport Driver for Powerhouse Industrial Supply.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Moritta; daughters, Amy (Justin) Dorl of Berryville, AR and Zara (Cole) Leivan of Wichita Falls, TX; sons, Jimmy O’Gorek of Springdale, AR, Jared (Johnna) O’Gorek and Shaeden Leivan of Berryville, AR; sisters, Marianne Delabar and Mercedes Oliver; brothers James Matlock and Stephen Matlock; Grand-daughters Rilea Dorl and Reagan Dorl; and life-long best friends, Danny Kriesel, Justin Tidyman, Jeremy Sanders and Eddie Rogers.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life service for Michael will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 20, 2021 at Green Forest Cowboy Church with Pastor Doug Blevins officiating.  Interment will follow at Pickens Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
