Myrna Chaney Obituary

Myrna Joyce Chaney of Berryville, AR passed away November 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born January 18, 1948 in Green Forest daughter of the late Joy Columbus and Helen Virginia (Burgess) Chaney.


Myrna grew up on a farm in the Rule Community and attended Green Forest Schools. After receiving her Beautician License she opened up her own Beauty Parlor outside of Green Forest and operated it for 10 years. Myrna had also worked for Wal-Mart Stores and later drove a truck for 5 years. In 1995 she moved to DeQueen, AR where she was employed at Tyson Foods for 10 years.


Myrna had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her flowers and baking. Those that knew her liked her quick wit and enjoyed hearing her tell stories. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.


She is survived by her son, Kevin Teter and wife Teresa of Berryville, daughter, Tonja Smith and husband James of Berryville, grandchildren, Allison and Aspen Smith, Bodey Teter, Buck Gerrard and Brooke Baker, fur baby, Festus, her beloved companion, and a number of extended family.


Myrna is preceded in death by her parents Joy and Virginia Chaney, daughter, Teresa Lynn Teter and brother, Phillip Chaney.


A memorial gathering will be held 5-7 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
