Owen Lee Terherst

Owen Lee Terherst, age 71, of Green Forest, AR passed away Friday, October 2, 2020. He was born October 25, 1948 near Blue Eye, AR son of the late Joy Richard Terherst and Clellie Eldora (Peden) Terherst.

Owen was employed at a number of jobs over the years including Tyson Foods and Pipeline work. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. He loved telling jokes, laughing with people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was affiliated with the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and his faith was of upmost importance in his life.

Owen is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Lowe) Terherst, step-children, Jody Dewey,  Orva Lee Wood, Tracy Deertz, Denise Wood, Karon Cramer, Karla Hudson, Kara Guernsey, Frances Mcgee, Janice Johnson and Joe Mcgee, sister, Josephine Fisher and husband Kenneth, brother, Cecil Allan Terherst  and wife Janet Sue, sister-in-law, Linda Terherst, former spouse, Karen Dewey. 

Owen is  preceded in death by his parents, late wife, Lera Terherst, former wife Patricia Wood, 2 brothers, Charles Michael Terherst, J.T. Terherst, one sister, Emerald Ozell Carlson and step-son, Arnold Wilson. 

Celebration Of Life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pastor Thomas Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Eye Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM when the service begins. Mask will be required for all those in attendance and seating limited to 60 people.
