Russell Delmar Smith, age 94, of Alpena, passed away July 4, 2026. He was born on October 28, 1931, in Carrollton, AR, to Efton and Faye Coxsey Smith. He married the love of his life Billie Jean Brown on November 25, 1955, in Berryville, AR, and they were married for 57 years - she preceded him in death 2013.

Russell enjoyed keeping life simple. He loved spending time outdoors, especially spending time in his garden, tending to the flowers and his vegetables. He worked many years for Imperial Woodworks, traveling coast to coast to install church furniture. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country in the Korean War.

Russell is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Larry) Siemiller of Alpena, and Dr. Lori Smith of Conway, grandson Greg (Michelle) Siemiller of Bergman, great grandchildren Mahala Siemiller, Tripp Siemiller, and Hannah (Miles) Lowery, and great-great grandchildren Lachlan and MJ. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Frank Smith and Don Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Efton and Faye Smith, wife Billie Jean Smith, sister Jentie Chappell, and brothers Lloyd Smith, James Smith, and Duane Smith.
