Shirley Gray Obituary

Shirley Lee Charlton Gray, 63, of Green Forest, Arkansas, passed away on June 30, 2025, at Harrison hospital after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born January 19, 1962, in North Conway, New Hampshire, to Roy and Beverly Charlton. She was 1 of 8 siblings.

Shirl was a devoted Denver Broncos fan who loved to play poker and crocheting. She loved and spoiled her dog Buttercup and was known to talk to her siblings and friends daily on the phone. Shirl was very easy to love and made lifelong friendships throughout her life. She lived for her daughters and grandchildren who feel her loss deeply.

Shirl spent most of her childhood and adult years in on the central coast in California where she raised her daughters before moving and settling in Green Forest, Arkansas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Walter and Allen (Ace), sisters Sherie and Brenda, nieces Kristen and Trisha, and her best friend Melissa.

Surviving family includes her daughter Chrissy, son in-law Rick, and grandson Ethan of Marshfield, MO, and daughter Samantha, grandsons Christopher and Seth and granddaughters Julia and Nevaeh, all of Green Forest, AR. In addition to her daughters and their families, Shirl is survived by her brother Chuck of Missouri, sister Penny of Arkansas, sister Mary of California, sister Donna of Ohio, nieces Jaime of Texas and Diane of Arkansas, along with many nieces and nephews, great grandchildren and family friends.

Celebration of Life service for Shirl are being held on Saturday July 12th at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, Arkansas. Online condolences can be made at smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
