Terry Darby Obituary

Terry Lee Darby or “Darb”, a lifelong resident of Green Forest, Arkansas passed away Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2024, at his home in Green Forest at the age of 71. He was born in Berryville, Arkansas on October 28, 1952, the son of Dewey Wendell and Eula Annette (Herriman) Darby. Wendell passed away in 1955 and Eula married Clarence “Bud” Flowers in 1961, who all proceeded him in death.

On December 28, 1973, he was united in marriage to Judith Ann (Usrey) Darby who also proceeded him in death. They were married for 48 years until she passed away unexpectedly in May of 2021.

He was a wonderful father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to everyone who knew and loved him. “Darb” was a homebody who never liked the spotlight on himself and never had a bad word to say about anyone! He could fix or repair anything. He was an excellent auto body man and mechanic who loved to work on cars. He owned and maintained many cars, trucks, and motorcycles throughout his life, but his favorite vehicle was a Pontiac GTO.

He was a member of the GFHS class of 1970. Soon after high school he entered basic training at Fort Chaffee, then he began vocational training to become skilled in auto body work. He ran an auto body shop in Green Forest for a few years. In the late 1970’s he went to work driving a truck for Villines Feed. He worked there through all the name changes and expansions until he retired from Cal Maine Foods in August of 2015. He loved to tell people that he never had a ticket or wreck in the 36 years he drove a truck.

He is survived by his son Ross Darby, his daughter Morgan Gonzalez and husband Fernando and two grandchildren, Anthony Gonzalez and Virginia Gonzalez all of Green Forest; sister Gail Stockton and husband Jim of Harrison; sister Carla Kienast and husband Jack of Dallas, Texas; brother Jerry Flowers of Fort Smith; brother-in-law Randy and wife Jo of Omaha; aunt Joyce Darby of Berryville and several nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.
