Thelma Loveta Hughes, age 80, of Green Forest, AR passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022.  She was born March 20, 1942, in Green Forest, AR daughter of Robert Wesley and Rosa May (Trent) Taylor.

Thelma grew up on the family farm outside of Green Forest along with her 8 brothers and sisters and graduated from Green Forest High School in 1961.  On April 15, 1962, she married Leland Greenhaw, who preceded her in death March 24, 1989.  On May 28, 1993, she married George Hughes who preceded her on June 12, 2002.

Thelma had been employed at Cargils Plant in Springdale for several years before retiring.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed working in her flowers, gardening, sewing, crafting and judging (EHC) at the Carroll County Fair.  She especially enjoyed volunteering at the Mercy Thrift Store.

She is survived by her son, David Greenhaw of Lincoln, AR, a brother, Carl Taylor (Mariline) of Green Forest, 3 sisters, Rosa Mae Thomas of Green Forest, Lolita Haines of Branson, MO and Bessie Cook (Jim) of Omaha, AR and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosa (Trent), 2 sisters, Virginia Taylor Negelein and Nina Taylor, and 3 brothers Jay, Thomas and Eugene Taylor.

Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.  Brother Jerry Spurlock and Jim Kelley will officiate with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service begins.
