Vergie Catherine Heggins Lee (MawMaw) was born the daughter of Monroe and Minnie Miller Heggins on January 8, 1931 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. Vergie married the love of her life, Jack Lee (PapMan) on August 28, 1949, Jack preceded Vergie in death as well as her sons Joe R. Lee (Judy) and Tommy Lee. Additionally, Vergie was preceded in death by brothers ML Heggins, Bilbo Heggins," Ben Heggins, Delano Roosevelt "Del" (Molly), Johnny Heggins and sister Margie Heggins May. She is survived by two brothers Marion "Jim" Heggins (Joyce) of Houston, TX and Hiwatha Heggins (Chantel) of France, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and many neices and nephews. Vergie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. She loved to fish and to ride horses attending many trail rides. It was nothing for Vergie to hook up the horse trailer and take off on an adventure trail riding with the Grands coming home with trophies that were awarded to the "oldest rider on the trailride"! She also loved to fish and took a select few on a fishing expedition to her "lucky pond". One would need to remember not to come away with the "lions share" of fish or trips to the "lucky pond" would not be in their immediate future! Those who knew Vergie would say that she was a very "strong-willed lady" as she came form an era that "if it needed to be done" then just get it done, whether it was trimming limbs from the house top at 70+ years, getting on the roof to adjust the TV antenae or breaking a horse to pull a wagon! Vergie was not scared to just "get it done". Vergie retired from Nursing having been affiliated with several hospitals in Mississippi during her career. Everyone who knew Vergie is aware that she had a "green thumb", loving to grow any kind of a plant or tree or huge garden every summer. Her latest was a pineapple plant that she grew at Autumn Hill where the staff and Residents got to enjoy the "fruit of her labor" when the pineapple was harvested and eaten! Vergie will truly be missed by her family and friends here on earth, however we have peace knowing she is with Jesus and her family in Heaven!
