Wayne Bailey

Wayne Bailey, age 74, of Green Forest, AR passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  He was born May 16, 1947, in Berryville, AR to the late Luther Ertie and Betty (Taylor) Bailey.  Wayne graduated from High School and went on to earn his teaching degree.  He was united in marriage with Mary Fritter who preceded him in death. 

Wayne taught High School and coached both baseball and basketball in several different states.  He loved anything and everything about sports.  The highlight of his life was teaching his nieces and nephews to play sports (they were his reason to live).  After his retirement, Wayne worked at Wal-Mart for as long as he was able.

He is survived by his brother John Bailey and wife Kim of Green Forest, sister, Judy Knox and husband Jim of AZ, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dachshund dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Fritter and one sister, Barbara McDaniel.

Celebration of Life service for Wayne will be Friday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Rev. Wayne Writer officiating.
