Wilson Newberry Obituary

Theodore “Wilson” Newberry, a long-time resident of Green Forest, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on August 10th at the age of 87.  He was born in George, Arkansas on December 15, 1933, the second of five children of Allen Amon and Goldie Gladys (Griffith) Newberry.  He attended school at Pleasant Hope.

On May 2, 1959, he married his love, Bonnie Lucille Stephens, in the home of Reverend Bob Cooper in Granby, Missouri.  They were married for 62 years. Soon after, they moved to Lodi, California, where Wilson and Bonnie worked at a cannery.

In October of 1960, Wilson and Bonnie welcomed their baby girl, Kathy Eleen.  In 1962, they  moved to Neosho, Missouri where Sandra Ellen was born.  They lived in Osage, Arkansas for a couple of years when Danny Allen arrived, before settling in Green Forest in 1966.  Soon, along came Dianna Lynn.

Wilson was a strong, hard worker his whole life.  He was a farmer, worked in Die Casting for thirty years, worked off and on pipelining in Alaska and Panama in the 1970’s and the 1980’s, and raised Tyson’s chickens for twenty plus years.

Wilson enjoyed hunting, trapping, guns and his dogs.  He liked eating a good home cooked meal (often from his garden), apple pie, and his Folgers coffee.  He loved the Lord and made it a point to tell his family about the Bible often.  He would often say, “The main thing is to know the Lord.”

Wilson is survived by his wife, Bonnie, their three children, Kathy (Jimmy) Wolfinbarger of Berryville, AR, Sandra (Brent) Ahne of Conway, AR, and Dianna (James) Marshall of Green Forest, AR; his sisters, Lou Etta Roe of Bergman, AR, and Joyce (Kenneth) Whitely of Green Forest, AR, and his brother, Larry (Linda) Newberry, also of Green Forest; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceeded by death by his parents, sister, Wilma Culp, and his son, Danny Newberry.
